I agree with a large portion of the article.

However, I disagree on your note about wrecks. In-universe wrecks are floating piles of scrap that one *may* be able to extract something useful from. It's like rooting through your garbage to see if anything interesting turns up.
Or rooting through a scrapyard or something. Point is, it's trash, and much like the scrapyard (or junkyard, or whatever) it's open to general access. One man's junk is another mans useful crud.

The simple way round it is to get a corpie to come along with in a 'cane or a dessie and salvage everything.
Job done (and noted in a previous article I might add!)

As to the tractor beam legality, CCP will probably explain it away as an onboard software system that scans the target prior to your tractor beam engaging. Or, y'know, something.

I do agree though that the GSC really needs to be what it says on the tin. 3,900m3 is damned pointless unless you're using it for personal storage at a POS.

As far as I'm concerned, Goons are the new BoB. They have taken on the role of belligerent tyrant in the Eve universe. They have many other alliances in their hands, including Pandemic Legion, KIA, and Xdeath. These three main alliances have been sent to do the Goon's bidding in order to destroy their greatest threat.

The main alliances taking the brunt of this attack are IRC, ED, and Atlas. How the war against these alliances is going varies. I've heard IRC and ED is doing poorly to stop the juggernaut. I've also heard Atlas has been very efficient in killing the Goon coalition.

But I don't want to talk about political wars. I'll leave that for the CAOD. The point i'm trying to get at is that even though BoB is dead and gone (a good thing), they have been replaced by Goons who have an even larger army. It's really a battle for Delve.

BoB was killed by one man. A director who obviously grew to hate BoB. Although this may be disturbing to other alliances, this is just reality. The Eve universe is one filled with pirates and con artists. It does not have the ethical laws that RL countries have. The rules of Eve are centered around not abusing glitches, exploiting game mechanics, etc. In Eve, people steal, people kill, people spy, and people sabotage corporations and alliances. That is the reality of Eve and is what makes Eve the game the game that is it.

So, in my final words I will say this...Do I think it was wrong that the Dir. of BoB did what he did? No. Do I fear this happening in my Alliance or Corporation? Yes. Eve is a game, nothing more. If you die, you come back again. If you are pushed into empire from null sec, you fight to get back out there again. That is reality, that is Eve.

A hurricane is one of the best salvage ships out there until you get to t2 battleships. Don't discount the low slots for cargo expanders. A salvage-cane can clean up almost all level 4 missions in one trip.

in my corp usually it works in this way.
If you solo a mission you get the loot from salvaging but it could happen that some strong corp-mates ask you to join for the salvaging role because it's much more confortable to get a salvaging in the meanwhile you kill the rats.

You save time... and in the end you split the revenue :)

But as said... you need a nice corp-mate to do that...

I've also been playing EVE for a month and I'm loving every minute of the game. Granted, I had played a couple years prior so I had a better idea how to start out the second time around compared to the total noob. I like how you emphasize the importance of player owned corporations. Player interaction is a must. This is one game where you have to put your ego aside and just work your way through the game. It's very sobering when you know players who have played for years and still don't have it all.

Great story. All the characters seemed pretty well fleshed out. Enough that you can actually care what happened to Jordi. Did his ship make it through. If these characters were continued I would read more about them.

Someone above mentioned Ratting, i've heard about ratting with them as well. I assume this is 0.0 rating? I have 14 days until i get mine, and can't wait! I fly Amarr with Amarr dedicated skills (T2 lasers, hardeners, etc). Curious though: Can you mission in an assault ship as well? If so, what mission(s) could they handle (Level 1-4)? Also curious as to if a Stealth Bomber could run missions on it's own.

Congrats on joining Eve and I hope you stick with it. I am a fellow engineer as well (training and trade). I have throughly enjoyed my time in eve. Started back 4 years ago now while I was still in University. Dont get as much time in as a I used to but it has been a hell of a ride since then. Also glad to hear the new player experience is a bit better now. Fly safe and have fun.
