This was SO MUCH FUN to write, and spilled off my pen onto paper in a total of about 12 hours. Big thank-you hugs to Smak for requesting the story; neither of us had any idea what it would be, and I’m really happy with the way this turned out!

Didn’t think it would be so long, though o_O

On the subject of using Earth terms, there is nothing that suggests these would not be carried through in some form via language and tradition. There’s more a danger of using too many made-up names, because then readers don’t have a reference-frame they can relate to. Readers should identify with the subject, not be confused by it.
