continued from Part I
So my buddy and I have been invited to run Level IV missions with another player, who turned out to be an alt of a fellow Corp member. Needless to say, at this point we jumped at the opportunity. We decided this was nothing but an obvious decision and set our autopilot for the roughly 20 jumps out. However, our tiny little frigates with standard missile launchers and small energy turrets probably were not going to get the job done. Turns out that you can’t shoot a BB gun at a battlecruiser and wait around for the fireworks, otherwise you’re going to be waiting a very long time. So we decide to skill up and get a couple of cruisers with some heavy missile launchers prior to engaging in the almighty Level IV mission! Luckily we were only about a day worth of skilling out from being able to fly a cruiser and outfit it with at least something substantial, heavy missiles for me.
Finally we arrive out our destination and are oh so anxious to start making ISK. We spend about an hour running around picking up our shiny new ships, heavy missile launchers, and a whopping 500 heavy missiles. We also throw on a salvaging turret, as this is the key to a flowing river of ISK when you are just a noob. (New Players: Skill Salvaging, good ISK making) Then we head out to jump to a 0.4 system, oh were we nervous. Luckily our Corp mate was waiting on the other side in order to shelter us from any pirate onslaught. Now the missions begin and we just start raking in the ISK, or at least raking it in on a new player level. Boy oh boy was this an invitation to heaven! Talk about salvaging and some damn good loot to boot! I started cashing in my loot and salvage and was pulling in at least 2-3 million ISK an hour with these missions, loot, and salvage. It was as if the stars had aligned and decided to dump ISK into our wallets. At this point we feel like we are ready to retire with our boat load of cash…mind you we probably have about 10-15 million ISK each right now. Little did I know the costs the EVE universe would soon bestow upon me.
To give my cargo load a good cleaning, I begin busily selling all my recently acquired loot and salvage on the open market at the closest station I can find. Keep in mind that I am still in a 0.4. So I’ve sold all that I can, my wallet is ripping at the seams (or so I think) and I am rearmed and ready to head back out to kick some ass! I undock from the station and am completely dazed and confused when all of a sudden I have message pop up that some asshole is warp scrambling me in my brand new 3.5 million ISK ship. Well I immediately attempt to warp out since I have no understanding of what being warp scrambled is (this is what you would call the definition of a noob moment). So warping obviously is not working or getting me anywhere, so I think I’ll just redock and wait it out. Well about 3 seconds after this began I was done for. I was just a tiny little pod in the middle of space. Man oh man was I mad! I go straight for my Character Sheet to figure out who the hell killed me. I found the Pirate’s name and I attempted to start a conversation. Suprisingly, he accepted my conversation request and I proceeded to ask him who, what, where, why when how about my recent encounter. Basically it came down to him being a Pirate and me learning a quick lesson about high sec and low sec space. In the end he gave me 5 million ISK for my losses, what a nice guy! Actually, it all ended up going extremely well. My ship was insured at the platinum level so I actually made about 4.5 million ISK after all was said and done. Now it was time to start a new, find a ship, outfit, and get back into the Level IV missions. Or so I thought…

Genarij:
I was doing Level IV missions in 0.4 space because that’s where the mission took us. Also, we were with an experienced player, so it was really a non issue until my inexperience led me astray.
Predator:
It is just a recount of my beginning and noob experiences in EVE…nothing more. I can understand if you did not like the story, but you don’t have to post negative comments, at least not with out any constructive criticism.
Thanks
I’m pretty sure that a general rule of life is that if you don’t have something nice to say, then don’t say anything at all.

This was good Rothimus, always nice to think back on my old days as a noob…and sometimes not.
Anyway, don’t listen to the flamers. You did good.
